Brian Stagner Ph.D
I have provided psychotherapy and assessment services since 1984. I work with adults,
couples and families who are struggling with life’s challenges. Some of my clients are
bewildered by the conflicts and stressors in their lives and feel overwhelmed. Others are
suffering from mild psychiatric problems (anxiety, depression, or behavioral health
problems) and often find it helpful to work with a psychologist to learn better coping
strategies to manage these problems.
There is no universal therapy. I shape my therapeutic approach to each individual
client’s problems, personality, life circumstances and cultural traditions. Consequently, I
draw on several therapeutic models, with an emphasis on scientifically validated
treatment techniques. When the situation indicates that a medication consultation may
be helpful, I work with medical colleagues to help identify the best response to your
symptoms. Mostly, I believe that people experience improvement from a combination of
learning to see their problems in a new way, learning new skills to cope with their
problems and, most fundamentally, learning to understand themselves better.
